About
Troop 5 is the Kessler Park United Methodist Church sponsored Boy Scout unit. Boys 11 to 18 years of age are welcome to join.
The mission of Troop 5 is to prepare young men in Oak Cliff to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. We do this through a boy-led outdoor leadership program, a strong emphasis on personal development, civics, and service in the community.
Nestled in Roberts' Forest just north of the church is the scout hut where we meet most Monday nights at 7pm during the school year. Troop 5 has had a home with Kessler Park UMC since 1955 and enjoys the active involvement many trained adult volunteers.
