About PCEC
Originally established in 1968 by the Greater Dallas Community of Churches, Pastoral Counseling and Education Center (PCEC) is the largest not-for-profit, outpatient
mental health agency in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. In addition to their main office on Lemmon Avenue, PCEC has approximately 30 satellite offices located throughout the Metroplex.

About Aaron Pawelek
Mr. Pawelek is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and pastoral counselor. A native New Englander, Aaron relocated to North Texas in January of 2008 when his wife, Susan, took a job directing the Center for Creative Connections at the Dallas Museum of Art. Aaron, Susan, and their son Oliver have enjoyed getting to know North Texas and are proud to call it home.

As both a social worker and a pastoral counselor, Mr. Pawelek practices deep and active listening, supporting his clients in a process that allows them to to clarify the issues they are working on, as well as identify the qualities necessary to bring about the change they envision. He uses a variety of modalities within a person-centered framework to treat anxiety and depression, addictions, stress-related issues, and complicated grief. Most importantly, he considers the faith of each client and encourages creative use of their faith in the therapy process.
Payment & Insurance
Mr. Pawelek is in-network with many insurance plans, including Medicare and the Texas Northstar Medicaid program. He also works on a private pay basis and offers an adjusted fee scale as appropriate.

PCEC is the recipient of a grant from the Dallas Foundation which allows him to treat veterans of the current Iraq and Afghanistan wars and their immediate family members at no charge.
