Prism Adult Sunday School Class
About
The Prism Class seeks to discover the endless ways God touches, guides, and uses our lives to demonstrate His love. The class uses educational, devotional, and worship tools to discuss how an ever-growing relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ, works to strengthen our lives, possibly inspiring others to begin or renew their own relationship with Christ.

We seek to feed our souls with a generous measure of intellectual stimulation and to prepare ourselves for worship. The class is informal and lively discussion is frequent.

Past topics have included:

  • Exploring the historical perspectives and aspects before, during, and after Christ's lifetime
  • Understanding the Bible as a recording of some of the events of the day, conveyed orally and put into writing by the people of the time
  • How history and current events help create understanding for today's Christian practices
  • The challenges and opportunities connected with living a Christ-filled life

Mission
Outside activities include preparing and serving dinner to the residents of Hillcrest House each February, helping the Kessler Park UMC Children's Ministry, facilitating the "Meet the Methodists" program, and occasional social events.

Additionally, we also sell Arpilleras (tapestry products) made by South American women. The sales of these products go back to these women, to improve their lives.

Learn more about these at the upcoming Missions Fair on September 25th.
